      Godfrey Baguma is an Ugandan, born in 1973 (48 years, 2021) at Mbarara, he is the only son of his parent. The story of Baguma started very sadly. Sometimes after his birth, his mother realized what horror she had as a son. What an act of cruelty! Because of this, she abandoned him and went awol. His grandmother, however, took him and raised him, not minding how he looks.

      He was not actually born ugly, it all started when he was about ten (10) years of age, that he began to notice some strange tumor-like outgrow around his head, cheek and neck. The outgrowth was so severe that it turned him into a very ugly boy. Because of this, he is often dubbed as “Ssebabi” – meaning “the ugliest of all”. He was often made fun of by his peers, “you look like a strange creature”, they would often taunt. He was denied certain privileges which includes freedom. All these often pierced his self esteem.

      Being a weirdo didn’t stop him from living a normal life. He went into shoemaking as a trade to meet both ends, but it just wasn’t enough. Since he has a grotesque appearance, there wasn’t much job opportunities for him, however, he continued in his shoe making, hoping, one day, things will get better.

      Well as the saying goes “no condition is permanent”, Baguma’s life eventually experienced a change-  One fateful day, a man who worked at an entertainment industry came to his shop. He told him about the “World’s Ugliest Man Competition”, having nothing to lose, Baguma signed up for the competition. In the long run, Baguma won the title, he is indeed very ugly, his ugliness brought him to lime light.

      After the competition, his pictures went viral, making him famous. His self esteemed was at the roof. He saw this as an opportunity to boost his standard of living through his given talents, talents that many had never cared to appreciate. Thanks to the man who introduced the competition to him.

     Baguma is not just ugly and all that, he has a flair for music and naturally funny – comedian. He started his musical career as an African pop musician, releasing several albums, all of which went viral. One of his albums – “abate”, hit a whooping 3,000,000 (3 million) views, others also span thousands of views. Baguma’s life began to get better.

      Later, what everyone least expected of Baguma happened, he got married! Someone still fell in love with the world’s most Ugliest Man. His wife was even a good looking woman. So if you think you can’t get a beauty as a wife cause you are not handsome, learn from Baguma.

     Although Baguma married two wives, he is now settled with the second one. His first marriage produced two (2)  kids, afterwards got to an end due to infidelity issues with his wife.       Some times later, Baguma feared that he might pass the abnormality to his children as they grow too, plus he began to notice difficulty in his breathing. He said:

     “Right now I am afraid because I have a little daughter who kind of resembles me”.

    “I look at her head and I believe that she might look like me”.

    “Sometimes I worry because my children are still very young. I worry about what would happen to them if I died. I think about that a lot now.”

     Tony Wilson, the head of medicine at Mbarara Hospital in the Western region of Uganda came to his rescue. He carried out several tests on him.

      After Godfrey’s health began declining, Tony Wilson, head of medicine at Mbarara Hospital in the western region of Uganda, decided to carry out tests to diagnose him. According to Dr Wilson, Baguma suffers a very widespread abnormality in his head and extending to various parts of his brain. He also made it known that his posture is compressing his chest. This made his breathing difficult.

      Six weeks after the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan by the doctor. His condition was fully diagnosed. According the doctor Wilson’s test at Mbarara Hospital in the Western region of Uganda, Baguma suffers from a very rare congenital disease known as fibrodysplasia, which later manifested as he grew. This condition affects the growth and placement of cells and tissues in his body. The Doc however assured him that with the correct medication in place, he can manage the disease. And to his greatest joy, his condition cannot be passed to his children.

    “I was scared to go out and mix with people. People would say I wasn’t a human being, that I looked like a strange creature, but now I have to accept how I look.”

    “Now I’ve got friends. People call me to go to their shows and give me money, it helps me take care of my children.”

    2. ERIC SPRAGUE

      Eric Sprague is an American based performer. This man is widely known for his very abnormal body modification, virtually all his body is altered with tattoos. These tattoos are not just casual, they were made with sophisticated devices. All these body alterations were done in such a way that he looks like a typical green lizard, he even has some lizard abilities!

     His looks however was hideous, it made him look strange, like some kind of alienated human being. Because of this, he is professionally known as “The Lizardman”.

     Anyone born with a strangely deformed face would of course, wish to be normal. The reverse was the case of Eric. He intentionally made himself very ugly, probably to be a unique performer or something, how surprising.

      Enigma had been a tattoo freak for years back, as far back as 1992. Later in life, he met Katzen, a tattoo freak like him, popularly known as the “Tiger Lady”, this lady also has multiple tattoos on her body. They later got married, not long, they divorced.
